The Middlesex Eleven being 32 behind their opponents, went in for their second innings, but faded to make any stand against the splendid howling of Garratt, Palmer, and Spofforth, and the innings closed for 91. The Australians requiring 60 runs to win, went in for their second innings, and obtained one beyond the number wanted for the lo°s of on y two wickets.
