FASHIONABLE DANCING.
The fourth figure of the Lancers is almost, entirely changed. When the ladies advance to the centre, instead of turning round after Lowing to the gentlemen, as in the old style, the gen--1 e ten form a circle round* the ladit s ; won hands joined the ladies hack out from the centre beneath the gentle men’s arms, and place their hands on the arms of the two gentlemen next them the right hand on the arm of the gentlemen up the riaht-hand side, and the left on that of the gentleman ■on the leit ; they then dance round quickly, each one stopping at his or her place The gentlemen next advance, and having turned round to hov to the ladies, the latter advance towards them ; e<ch gentleman takes his own partner round the waist with the right hand, whilst with the left he holds the atm of the gentleman next him, and in this manner dance round, thus forming a double link. Tt is l»esng rapidly adopted in the higher circles, and is undoubtedly the pleasantest manner ol dancing the f-mrth figure of the Lancer*. —Correspondent in Tim Quean.
