DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
A special meeting of the Committee of Management was held on Saturday evening last, in the Town Hall, Clyde, for the purpose of electing a resident surgeon vice Dr Leahy resigned. Present : Messrs J. E. Stevens, Vice President (in the ohair). Attfield, Cambridge, Holt, Bak, Sims, Crawford, Butler and George Fache, Secretary.
The gecretary laid on the table applica tions from the undermentioned gentlemen; Dr Danger Carey, Wellington. Dr W. I). Parry, InvercargillDr G. C. Foot, Dunedin. Dr Hyde, Blacks.
The applications and testimonials having been read and diplomas scrutinized, it was agreed to decide the election by ballot, which was then done with the following result—
Dr Pont, 6 ; Dr Parry, 2 ; Dr Carey, 1. The Vice President accordingly declared Dr Foote duly elected. The Secretary was instructed to return to unsuccessful candidates their testimonials and diplomas and to inform Dr Foot of his election. The meeting then dissolved.
