Feraud, manufacturing all tlie Wines, Liquors and Cordials himself, the ])ublic will be assured that his products will be free from any i mercenary manipulation. I Mr Feraud lias succeeded in pro- ■ during Aromatic Tonic Bitter Wines ! which arc not only agreeable beve- , rages, but have also excellent medii cinal properties. The following is Professor Black’ i report : j “ University, Dunedin, Otago, Kew Zcaland Laboratory. Class—Leverages. November stli, 1575.
I have examined for Mr .1. T). Feraud, of Moixtc Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples <if Aromatic Tonic Titters, with the following result No. 827 is a sherry colored, amlNo. 82Sis '.a port wine red colored liquid ; they arc both perfectly transparent showing the parity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable cool hitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the oacharino matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. I have also examined the aromatic and other flavoring substances used by Mr Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended with the fruit wine, they must ho pronounced perfectly safe, and free from anything like deleterious properties. I consider this wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their hulk of water, they will make a good cooling summer drink. JAMES 0.
