BLACKS. J.C. ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Blacks Jockey Club came off at Ophir on December 30th, and was a very fair success. There was one drawback to the enjoyment of the visitois, and that was the weather, which was not everything that could have been desired. St wn very squally, and of course raised the dust, causing the ladies esp.’ciilly some annoyance.
The racing was excellent, and, everything -considered, the fields of horses brought together may be regarded as having been exceptionally good, so that the Club may congratulate themselves with the thought that their 1881 meeting was a successful one. We regret the' misfortune to Teviot. When running for the Vincent Handicap he fell and dislocated his fore fetlock, and was afterwards shot. The following is a report •of the racing :

An immense number of people was prcient, and tbe songs, etc., were admirably rendered, A dance, in which about fifty • couples took part, finished up the day’s • proceedings.
