To THE EDITOR. —III the course of a semi-public discussion on Wednesday last, Mr V. Fyke disputed the correctness of my assertion that he had voted against the reduction of the miner's right fee fiom £1 to 10s. and challenged me to pu dish the pi oof. len close you “ Hansard” No. 20. October 2d. 1.877. On reference to page 416, you will find it recorded that w hen the Mines Bill was in Committee, Mr W.mlcock moved the reduction of the miner’s right fee from £1 to 10s, and that Mr Fyke’s name appears in the division fist as voting against the reduction. The “ Hansard ’is enclosed for your verification of my statement. Mr Fyke is now a loud advocate of the reduction, and hence the discussion arose. Your in enion of the above wdl oblige me, as I do not. like to lie under the impiitation of wrongfully charging Mr Fyke with anything.—l am. etc., „ D MACKELLAR. Oromwell, Nov. 23. ISSI.
