Vincent County Gazette. SPECIAL ORDER. VINCENT PYKE, CHAIRMAN. WHEREAS by ‘'The Counties Act, 187G," it is amongst oilier things eracteil that the Council of any County may from time to time by Special Order alter the number of the ridings within the County and the names and boundaries thereof, and the number of the Councillors to he elected by each tiding as it thinks lit:

And where is, by Special Order bearing date the twenty-ninth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, the Vincent Comity Council, did alter the number of tidings within Vincent County ami the names-and boundaries thereof, and the number of Councillors to be elected by each riding And whereas it is expedient to alter the number of ridings at present existing iu Vincent County from nine to eight, and for such purpose that the Kawarau Hiding an 1 the Xevis Hiding as desciibed in ttie beforemenlioned Special Order should he amalgamated under the name and title of the “ Carrick Hiding,” and that one Councillor should be elected for each tiding :

Now, therefore the Vincent County Counc 1 doth hereby order and declare that the Kawarau Hiding and Nevis Hiding are he eby amalgamated and merged into one riding, which said riding shall henceforth lie known l>y the name and description of the “Garrick Riding,” having the boundaries set forth in the schedule hereunder written And doth hereby further order and declare that the number of Councillors to be elected for each riding shall be o"e And doth hereby furth r order and declare that this Older shall (as to the amalgamation hereby made and the number of Councillors to be elected thereon) come into force and take effect at the next general election o' the Council for the said Vincent County, and shall to such extent as may he necessaiy forpreparing any roll or otherwise providing for the next general election of the council come into force and take effect forthwith.

S C II EDOLE, Carrxck Riding.— Bounded towards the north by the centre of the Kawarau River from near the confluence to ihe Nevis River to its confluence with the Bannockburn, thence due south to a point twenty chains from the right bank of the Kawarau River, thence down and along the west bank of the Kawarau and Clutha Rivers by a line twenty chains distant from and parallel to the said rivers to the boundary between Rons 325 a and 325b, towards the south by that boundary and the southern boundary of Run 330 to the summit of the Canick Mountains, thence by the summit of the Garrick Mountains and Garvie Mountains to Rocky Mount, thence by a right line to Lome Peak, thence along the summit of Hector Mountains to Rouble Cone, thence along the summit of a leading ridge to the Kawarau River near the confluence of the Nevis. Dated the twenty-ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and cighty-one. GEORGE CURK, County Clerk.
