TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON, THE ENTIRE DRAFT HORSE “ROYAL DUKE.” The property of Thomas Mee, of Blackatone Hill Royal Duke ■will travel this season through Blacks, Tinkers, Drybreafi, Ida Valley, and St. Balkans’ Districts. ROYAL DUKE is a pure-bred Clydesdale, stands IGJ hands high, possesses great strengtn of bone, firm action, beautiful symmetry, and is of a bright bay colour; he also has proved himself a sure foal getter. Royal Duke won the first prize when a three year old colt iu Dunedin, and the second prize against' all comers at the Clutha. At the Agricultural Show, Dunedin, he also gained the prize as a three year old colt. One of his foals, shown in Tokomairiro last year, gained the first prize against numerous competitors. Royal Duke was got by Champion (well known to be the best horse imported to this colony), out of the celebrated mare Jessy, imported in 1803, by Messrs Emmery and Straghan, from Tasmania. The same year she gained tho Taieri Agricultural Society’s first prize for tho best colonial-bred mare, and the second prize for the best draft mare at the Show, beating Mr Nimmo’s black imported direct from Scotland, and the Mowing year took prizes both in Dunedin and Taieri.
