WHOLESALE ROBBERIES BY A CIVIL SERVANT.

(By Electric Telegraph.) NAPIER, August 23. A clerk in the Post Office, named Rendell, has been arrested on charges nf wholesale robbery. No one suspected him, but. his wife informed the police, sayina she could no longer rest under the knowledge of his robberies. She says he has systematically opened letters in the office, and abstracted, sums varying from £lO downwards. When arrested be was engaged opening letters,and 30 skeleton keys were found on him, with which, his wife states, he has been in the habit of entering shops,and taking out what he wanted.
