DUNEDIN STOCK REPORT. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report for the week ending Wednesday, Aug 3rd 1881, as follows s Fat Cattle.—To day’s market was supplied with 293 head. Best bullocks sold at T. 9to Lll 2s 6d ; others, L 6 to L 8 17s fid ; best cows, L 7 5s to L 8 15s ; others, 1.4 2s 6d to LG 15s—or equal to 22s 6d per 1001b for prime, 20s medium. Fat Sheep.—This week’s supply was the largest seen for some time, comprising 934 merino wethers (except some 180), and 2380 cross breds. This number proved greatly in excess of trade requirements, prices receding Is to 2s per head. Best crossbreds, heavy weights, fetched 14s 9,1 to 16s fid ; good do, I3s 3d to 14s Cd ; others, lls fid to 13s 9d ; best merino wethers, 10s 9d to 12s 3d j others 6a 9d to 9s 3d.

Pica.—Bacon pigs sold at 35s to 46s j porkers, 24s to 30s ; stores, 9s to 18s each. Store Cattle.—At the Burnside yards today, some 80 head bullocks realised L 5 10s.

Sheepskins.—Butchers’ 'green crossbreds sold at 4s 8d to 6s ; dry do, 2s 9d to 4s Dd ; butohers’ merino, 4s lOd to ss, dry do, 2s 6d to 4s 8d ; skins in bales, 6Jd per lb. Hides —Green hides fetched 20s to 23s 6d each. Calfskins are worth 4d to 4£d per lb. Grain.—Oats : During the last few days shippers have bought largely, but prices show no improvement. Our week’s sales are 3976 hags at quotations. Barley : Maltinp samples for export are wanted ; other sorts dull of sale. We quote prime milling wheat 4s Id to 4s 3d ; good do, 3s 10 to 4s ; medium, 3s fid to 3s 9d ; inferior and fowls’ feed 2s 2d to 3s Id.
