DUNEDIN STOCK REPORT.
Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending June Bth : Fat Cattle.—A full supply was yarded to-day, consisting of 237 bead of which, 50 were store cattle and dairy cows. Bullocks realised from LG 17s GdtoLlO, and cows L 4 7s Gd to HOs 17s Gd, the stores selling at L2 7s Gd to L 3 15s per head. We sold as follows :—lO cows on account of Clarendon Estate at from L 8 7s Gd to LlO 17s Gd ; 18 on account of Mr S. G. Smith at L 5 5s to L 5 15s ; and 14 bullocks on account of Mr William Shand at L 7 10s to LlO. Quotation for best beef, 22s Gd per 1001b. Fat Calves. —l4 were offered, and sold at from 1 Is to 42s each.
Fat Sheep were again in moderate supply, the pens containing 1887 head, of which 723 were merinos. Competition was good, and last week’s rates well maintained. Crossbreds realised from 13s to Ifis Gd, and merinos 8s Gd to 1 Is. We sold drafts of cross-breds on account of Messrs J. G. Grey and others at from 13s to 15s 3d per head. Fat Pigs.—7B were sold at from Gs to 42s each.
Wool.—Wo have received the following from our London office, dated June 1 : “ Competition is increasing. Up to date 160,000 bales have been sold, and 95,000 bales have been taken for export,”
