ALEXANDRA.—Thursday, June 16. Before J. Keddell (Chairman), W. G. Bees, and Thomas Leahy, Esqs., Commissioners. town of alexandra. L. G. Byan, H Tohill, ami W. Robertson were each granted a general and night license. To the application of L. Cameron, an objection was raised by the police. Mr F„ J. Wilson, who appeared for Mr Cameron,said as the objection was of a general character and as no specific charge was made, the Bench had nothing to deal with, and urged that the license be granted.—The Bench, while coinciding with applicant's counsel, said the police were justified in the action taken Ml Wilson said he did not complain j of the over-zeal of the police, but objected to a black mark being put aga ; nst applicant's name.—The application was granted, W. Theyers, J. Rivers, and R. Finlay, wholesale.—Granted. DISTRICT OF ALEXANDRA. A. Cameron, general, Butchers' gully; and J. R. Kemp, general, Bald Hill Flat,— granted J. Oliver, Bald Hill—To this application the police raised an objection, whicb was ovei ruled, on the conteneion of Mr F. J. Wilson, who appeared for applicant, and was granted.
