DUNEDIN STOCK REPORT. Mr Donald Stronaeh (on behalf of the Now Eealiii.il Luaji and Mercontilo Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending May 18th :

Fat Cattle. —An excessive supply was forward at Burnsi-'e to-day, 282 head having been yarded (of which 30 '-ere stores and dairy cows) Prices consequently were scarcely supported, and last week’s quotation of 22s fid was reached in only a few instances. Bullocks realised 1,6 15s to Lll 15s, and cows 4 to L 9 17s fid per head. Quotation for prime 1-eef, 22s fid per 1001b. Fat Calves.—Only six were yarded, and sold at 27s per head. Fat Sheep were in fair supply, the pens containing 2113 head, of which 800 were merinos—stores and fat. Crossbreds sold at 9s 3d eo 14s 3d, and merinos, Cs to 9s per head—showing no quotable alteration from last market. We sold drafts on account of Messrs John Duncan at 10s fid to lls, and William Shand at 13s fid. Quotation fos best mutton, 2,’d perih. Fat Lambs. —79 penned, which sold at from 9s to Us.

Fat Rigs. —134 were offered, and sold at from 7s to 53s each.

Store Cattle.—We have on hand several drafts in forward condition.

Store Sheep.— We report sales of 20 merino rams on aecount of Sir P. D. Bell, Shag Vail ay, and 50 on account of Mr H. M ‘lntyre, Merino Downs, Wool.—We regret to observe that the auctions which opened in London on the 10th ins-ant show an unfavorable movement in prices, the decline in coarse ciossbreds and scoured ranging apparently from Id to 2d per lb, while finer descriptions of both merinos and crossbreds show no improvement on closing quotations of last ■series.

sheepskins. —( g usual weekly sale on Monday was v\ ' attended. Butchers’ crossbred skins fetched from 2s fid to 4s Id; merinos, la Bcl to 3s 2d ; lambskins, 3s Id; and pelts, 5d to Is each. Hides continue in brisk deman. At auc tion on monday we cleared all parcels forward at 15s to 28s fid each for weights averaging from 40lb to 931b each. Tallow is in good inquiry, and may be quoted up to 27s for prime. We have We have disposed of several parcels at up to 26s for good quality, and of rough fat up to l«s fid per cwt.

Grain—Wheat: Very good samples o f •milling would realise up to 4s. We have sold several yarcels of fair to good at fiom 3s 8d to 3s 10' d. Oats.— Peed oats having changed hands at as high as Is 9d.
