Commercial.

DUNEDIN STOCK REPORT. Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New ZcalandLoan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for week ending May 11th :

Fat Cattle.—l 96 head were yarded at Burnside to-day, of which 20 were stores and dairy cattle. The supply being a full one, last week’s prices were not supported by Is 6d to 2s 6d per 1001b. Fat cattle realised as follows :—Bullocks, L 5 10s to Xll 7s 6d; and cows, L 4 15s to L 8 12s 6d per head. Quotation, for beat beef, fully 22s 6d per 1001b. Fat Calves.—Only four were yarded, which sold at 32s each.

Fat Sheep.—The supply was very large, consisting of 2743 head, of which 1211 were merinos. Pi ices consequently gave way about Is per head. Cross-breds fetched from 10s to 13s 3d, and merinos 3s 9d to 9s Sd. On account of Messrs J. C. Dockland, Wm, Shand, and others, we sold 612 head of crossbreds at from 12s 3d to 13s 3d. Quotation for prime mutton, 2jd per lb. _ Fat Lambs.—79 were forward, and realised from 9s to 10s each.

Fat Pigs.—There was again a very good supply. 155 head were offered, and sold at from 5s to 38s each.

Store Cattle,—Quiet store bullocks in forward condition, are in demand. We sold 100 head since last report. Store Sheep.— We report sales 125 Leicester and 50 merino rams, on account of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company (Limited). Sheepskins.—Our catalogue on Monday ■consisted of 2300 skins, which sold at last week’s rates. Butchers’ crossbreds realised 2s 7d to 4s 4d for ordinary, and 4s 10d to 6s lid for full-woolled ; merinos, la lOd to 3s lOd ; lambskins, Is 7d to 2s lid ; pelts, lOd to Is 2d each.

_ Hides,—We sold several parcels at auction on Monday, at 15s 6d to 24s 9d each, for weights ranging 43 to 631bs ; yearlings, calfskins, heifers, &c., in proportion. Tallow.—We have no sales of prime tallow to report, hut it would fetch 26s 6d to 275, and rough fat 16s to 17s per cwt. Grain.—Wheat: We are able to quote an improvement of about 3d per bushel, at which there have been transactions. For prime milling we quote 4s per bushel ; fair to good 3s 6d to 3s lOd ; inferior and fowl feed, 2s 6d to 3s Cd per bushel. Oats : All feed oats coming to hand are placed easily at from Is 6d to lsßd, and milling up to Is 2d ; but really prime quality of the latter description is difficult to obtain.
