{DUNEDIN STOCK REPORT.

Mr’ Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending April 20th : Fat Cattle. —The supply to-day at Burnside Yards consisted of 181 head, chiefly of medium quality (including about 40 stores and dairy cows), which found buyers with some difficulty at about last week’s prices. Bullocks realised from L 4 10s to LS 12s Cd, and cow's L2 12s 6d to L 8 10s per head. On account of Mr F. Schaw we disposed of a draft of cows at from L2 12s Cd to L 3 10s. We quote, as last week, 20s per 1001b for prime beef. Privately we have placed 35 head at quotations. Fat Calves.—24 were sold, at from 7s to 35s each. Fat Sheep.—l 993 were penned, consisting ISCS crossbreds and 130 merinos. Prices receded Is to Is Gd per head. Crossbreds sold at 10s to 13s 3d, and merinos at 6s Cd to 7s. We sold drafts on account of the following constituents:—Messrs Colin Young, Maheno, 33 cross-breds, at 13s 3d ; J. C. Grey, 117 crossbreds at 11s and 11a 3d; Wilson Bros., 50 crossbreds at Us; Brugb Bros., 230 crossbreds at 10s to 10s Cd, and 130 merinos at Cs Gd to 7s per head. Quotation for best mutton, 2£-d per lb. Fat Lambs.—so were offered, and fetched 10s to 12 3d. We sold a draft on account of James Macandrcw, Esq. Fat Pigs were in full supply, ISS being penned, which sold at Ss to 7ls each. Store Sheep.—We have buyers for a very large number, and have placed since our last report about 4500 head. Sheepskins.—At our sale held on Tuesday (Monday being a holiday) we offered a considerable catalogue, comprising miscellaneous lots of skins. Cross-breds sold at Is lOd to 5s ; merinos, Is lOd to 4s 7d ; lambskins, Is 10d to 3s Id ; pelts, 8d to Is 7d each ; skins in bales, CJ,d per lb. Tallow.—All parcels offering are placed without difficulty at late rate—say up to 2Gs per cwt for well-rendered tallow, and 17s for rough fat. Grain.—Wheat : Prime milling, 3s 9d to 3s lOd; fair to good, 3s Cd to 3s and 8d ; fowl’s feed, 2s 31 to 3s per bushed. Oats are without alteration,the demand continuing good for feed at Is 4d to Is 7d per bushel; milling might realise up to Is 8d per bushel. Barley : Inquiry very limited ; 3s 3d per bushel might he obtained for really prime malting, and 3s for fair.
