CLYDE BRANCH OF LAND LEAGUE.

The first meeting of the Committee appointed at tho public meeting held in the Town Hall, Clyde, on tho Bth instant, was held on April 9th. Present—Messrs Naylor, Welsfe d, Sims, and George Fache. Mr Naylor was voted to the chair, and said it was necessary, as a first step, to elect a permanent Chairman and other officers. He would propose Mr S. Welsford as the permanent Chairman. Tho motion war seconded by Mr Sim°, and carried. It was resolved that tho title of |tho Committee he the “ Clyde branch of tho Central Otago Land League.” Resolved That Mr George Fache he Secretary. Mr Sims said that as there would necessarily bo expanses, there must be a fund raised, and accordingly a treasurer. He would propose that Mr B. Naylor he appointed Treasurer, which was seconded by Mr Fache, and carried. A fund was immediately organised on tho spot by members of the Committee. Resolved—That this Committee meet on Saturday the 16th instant at 8 p.m.,to prepare a memorial or petition to Parliament, touching the future disposal of the lands now leased to the pastoral tenants in Central Otago.
