FEEAUD takes the pre- • sent oppoitnnity of inferring residents of the Northern Goldfields an-1 the general public that his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now turning out an article not to be equalled, Mr Feraudhas succeeded in producing AROMATIC TONIC BITTER WINKS, which are not only agreeable beverages, hut also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black’s report:— “ University, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. Class—Beverages. November sth, lS7d. I have examined for Mr J D. Feraud, of Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. B'2Sis a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable cool hitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the sachariuo matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. I have also examined the aromatic and other flavoring suhsf cs used by Mr Feraud in their mann f n(l |. I ,'e, and from the proportions in which they are blended »ilh the fruit wine, they must fie pronounced perfectly safe, anil free from anything like deleterious properties. I consider this wine, therefore, an agreea- | hie and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, they will make a good cooling summer drink. JAMES O.
