I have examined for Mr J D, Feraud, of Monte Chiisto, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result No. 527 is a sherry colored, ami No. 82Sis a port wine reil colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. 'I liese two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the saeharino matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract, j 1 have also examined the aromatic and | other flavoring subs I. es used by Mr | Feraud in their inamifjjp).,, e, and from the | proportions in which they are blended viih i the fruit wine, they must be pronounced j perfectly safe, and free from anything like I deleterious properties.
