STOCK REPORT.

Mr Donald Stronacii (on behalf of tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending February 22nd ; Fat Cattle.— At Burnside Yards to-day 263 head were yarded, about 20 being stores. This supply being excessively large, prices underwent a further reduction of about 2s Cd per lOOlbs on the low quotations of last market.. .Bullocks realised fron L 4 17s 6d to LlO 1,55. and cows L2 IDs to L 7 15s. We sold drafts as follows On account of Mr J. C. Buckland, bullocks at LG ss, and cows at L4l2s fid to 1.5 10s ; Messrs Little Brothers, bullocks at LG 5s to L 7 10s, and cows at 1.5 to L 5 5s ; Henley Estate, ■ bullocks at La lOs to L 7, and cows L 4 15s to LG ; Messrs Fleming and Hodlcy, Sea town, cows at L 3 17s 9 1 to 1,4 17s fid. Wo quote prime beef, 20s per lOOlbs. ' ' Fat Calves,—3o were sold at from 15s to 28s per head. Fat Sheep —The market was again very fully supplied, but the trade demand was sufficient to clear tho pens at fully last week’s prices to Is better. 1828 head of cross-breds sold at from 8s to 10s 91, and 509 merinos at from 4s to Os 6d We sold drafts on account of Messrs William Shand at 9s fid, and Colin Young at 4s per head. Quotations for best mutton, Jbl to 2d per lb. Pat Lambs.—lß2 were penned, and sold at from fis 91 to 8s 61. Wo sold 70 bead, on account of Mr William Shand, at 8s to 8s fid. Fat Pigs.—72 were offered, and found buyers as from 14s to 49s each. Store Cattle. —We have buyers for store cattle of good quality, and in forward condition. Store Sheep.—The demand is still very active tor cross-breds of all ages, and for young merinos, and we report also a continued inquiry for good full-mouthed merino ewes. Quotations are about tho sumo as in our last week's report, and wo have made sales thereat of 11,670 head,

Wool.—At oiir No. 3,. public sale of this season, bold at the Otago Wool stores on Tuesday, tbo Ist instant,, we offered a good assortment of wool, ‘which, 'met with fair competition. Prices for the better descriptions were well but coarser kinds scarcely supported late rates. Some cousideral parcels, not realising owners’ ideas, were diawn for shipment Wo sold in all 476 bales and 37 hags at the folio ving prices ; —Croas-brcds and long wools, greasy, SJd to 12Jd j rams 14 |d ; merino, greasy, ,7 jd to I2d; washed to 10} 1; and scoured, 18d. Sheepskins —With a largo attendance of buyers and good competition at our salo on Monday last we disposed of a goo 1 catalogue at fully late prices. Full-woolled crossbred skins fetched from 4s 41 to Os lld ; and merinos. 4s 7d to 5s sd; ordinary skins up to 3s lid ; lambskins, Is GI to 2s 51 ; pelts, Is Id to Is 9d ; skins at per lb, CJdtoVil Hides.—Demand firm at from previous prices to a slight improvement, at winch all lots coming forward readily pass into consumption. We can place parcels of wellconditioned salted hides at 41 per lb. Tallow is without alteration. We quote 24s for fair quality, and 16s for rough fat, at which wo have made sales. Grain: Wheat—Buyers holding aloof, any quotations would only be nominal, anil no business of any importance can be expected until the new crop forward. Oats—Market still very quiet, the small demand existing being almost exclusively for export.' We quote prime milling, Is 7d; feed, Is 41 to Is Cl. Barley—No ch.ange.
