THE PROPOSED COUNTY LOAN.

[We do not hold ourselves jrsponsib'e for opinions expressed by correspo7idents. ]

(TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUN3TAN TIMES. Sit :—There is one important point, which 1 omitted to m nit on in my Address to the Council on thesubjict of tho proposed loan ; namely, that by the Counties’ Act it is expressly laid down that not more than seven per cent, per annum shall be paid on loans. This condition conveys an assurance to the ratepayers that the local revenue cannot be squandered in the payment of large interest on money borrowed. Yours &0., Vincent Fyke, County Chairman. Clyde, Ist February, 1331.
