Mr Donald Stronach (oh behalf of the N;w Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Q mpariy. Limited) reports as follows for the week ending January 12th : Fat cattle were in full supply at Burnside to day, 203 head having been yarded, in addition to which 134 head of store’s vfore offered. With fair competition for the trane. prices ruled about same as last week. Fat bullocks realised from L 5 17s 61 to LlO 10s, and cows 1,3 10; to L 8 per head. We sold, on account of Mr .1, O Bucklan ', 30 hea l of bullocks at L 7 17s Cd to 1.9 I os, and cowi L 5 to LG 17s 01; also, drafts of store cattle, on ae,count of Messrs Bruch Brothers and F. Shaw, ranging from L 4 17s 0 1 to LG 15s for Steers an-i bullocks, L2 lo; to L2 175G.l for cows, and L2 1 0s for yearlings. We quote 22a 6 i per 1001 > for prime beef. Fat Calves.—l 7 head were sold at from 12s to‘2Sa each. Fat Sheep. —The moderate supply 7 of 1551 bead were penned to day, ot which 700 were' nferinos. Quotations realised were fully up to those of last week, crossbreds fetching 7a 9d to 11s, and merinos 6a 61to 6; 91. We sold drafts on account of Messrs J. C. Bucklan I and F. Wayne at 9a 9I to 10a. Quotations for prime mutton, 2 I per lb. Fat Lambs —9ll were sol lat from 4a G1 to Ba. We sold drafts on account of Messrs Buckland, Little Brothers, and F. Wayne, at from G.a 9.1 to 8a per heal. Fat Pigs.—3o sold at from 37s to 41s ' each. Store Cattle.—We shall soil atMosgiel Cattle Yards, on Friday, the 21at current about 201) head of well bred store cattle, consisting principally of steers and bullocks aa per advertisement. Store Sheep'. - We have now particulars ; of several lots of cross-bre ls arid merinos from some of the host flocks in the country. Wool.—Our first regular sale of the season was hold at the Otago Wool Stores on Tuesday, the 11th lust., when we cleared under the hammer 649 bales and 74 bags of various descriptions at satisfactory prices Competition was good, both for shipment and local consumption'.
