The following is the 'Order Paper for the next meeting of the Council to l>o held du Wednesday the 2Glh. instant, Notices op Motion. 1. Cr. Pyke to move—That the Council resolve itself into Committee of the whole to Consider the advisability of raising a Special Loan of-; £IO,OOO for the construction of necessary public works. 2. Or PitAßEli to move—That tenders be Called fbi*gravelling eighty (80) chains of the Hawea Flat road. 3. Cr FrarM to move—That tenders be called for the construction of the Boundary Creek Bridge. 4. Cr M’Ginnis to move — That the road bo formed and culverts erected over tlid water raCes odt side Messrs Strode and Frasers freehold on main road Clyde to Butcher’s Gully. 5. Cr. M’Ginkis to move—That the temporary road reserved at the time of stirvey through sec.ions 2, 8, and 1), block X, Leaning Bock District;, be now closed. 6. Cr. Naylor to move— That one hundred and fifty pounds l>e expended on repairing and continuing the road from Clyde to Hid head of Waikerikeri Valley* 7. Cr FYkE to move—That, with the view of presenting to Parliament, next Session, a fair and impartial statement of—l, —-Tho public benefits to bo derived from the constrnc- • ion of the Otago Central Railway* and—2, — The capabilities of the interior districts of Otago for settlement;—an Independent Commision con-Ltdi" of three disinterested g- ptlemen, Willing to act, be appointed to inspect the country commanded by the line ; to take evidence thereupon ; and to fnrnisli a Reportt The Counties of Vincent, Maniototo, and Tnieri to nominate each one member of such Commission. That the Concurrence ■it Maniototo and Taieri Counties lie invited ; and that, in the event of any me County refusing concurrence, the other two have power to Carty out the proposal. 8. Cr.
