LAND BOARD
The following was amongst the business transacted at the usual weekly sitting of above held on the 15th instant : The plan of portion of Uphir township, recemly surveyed, was laid on the table, and the upset of L3'J per acre was fixed as the selling price. In regard to the adjourned application of R. Finlay on behalf of the Alexandra Presbyterian Church to purchase 50 acres of the commonage reserve near the Town, the Chairman explained that the Mock in question had been reserved by the Provincial Government “ for the purposes of sale" merely, anil not specially as a commonage. It could therefore be dealt with. Mr Clark said in that case it mignt be well to hj ive tho whole block surveyed and put uu for sale, and it was decided to inform the applicants that upon depositing survey fees the portion applied for would he surveyed and offered at auction.—A letter was read from Mr Perkins, secretary to the Tuturau Rabbit Trustees, asking what steps the Board intended to take to clear tho rabbits oft the Crown lands in that district, such lands being bush reserves and unsold sections. Mr Clark suggested that these bush reserves might now be sold, and the Ranger was asked to report m reference to this. Mr Perkins’ letter ikas forwarded to Government for consideration-
