STOCK REPORT.
Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending November. 24th Fat Cattle.—The supply being much below an average—only 72 head—sold at an improvement of fully 2s 6d per lOlllb. Bullocks realised from 1.4 os to Ll3 Ids, and cows LG 10s to LS 2s G I per head. We sold a draft on account of Mr George Thorne, juur., Maiieno, at quotations. We quote prime beef, 25s per KlOlb. Fat Calves. ■ Seven yarded, and sold at from 13s to 2Gs ) er head. Fat Sheep.- 1953 head were penned, which met with good competition at from about last week’s rates to a slight advance thereon. The range of prices was from 7s 31 to I Is for cross-breda, of which the supply consisted. We sold, on account of Messrs Little Bros , 191 hea l at 9s 61 to 9s 91 ; on account or Messrs ,1. and S. Wilson, Oamarn, 211 head, at Gs 91 to 7s 6.1 ; and for Air J. C. Backhand, 107 head, at 7s 91 to Ss GI. Quotations for prime mutton, ljd to 2 I per lb. Fat Lambs were again in goo 1 supply, and prices realise 1 did not renob those of 1 ist market. 559 were penned, and sold at from 4s GI to 7s per head. We disposed of drafis, on account of Messrs .1. and S. Wilson, J, 0 Backhand, and Duig, at fmm 5s G I to Gs 91. Fat Pigs.--Forty-four were offered, and sold at fr»m 12s to GGs each. Sheepskins.—Wo offered a fair catalogue on Monday, which met with good competition, ami prices wore well supported. Butchers’ cross-bred skins realised 5s 31 to 7s fi l ; merinos up tons 41 ; lain' skins, from 7 1 1 to Is ; and pelts, 5Jd each, .skins in bales sold at from fij I to 7£d per lb. Hide*.—Market continues very linn at late prices. Tallow —Wo have made sales of medium tallow at 245, and quote up to 253 per cwt for well-rendered tallow. Rough fat is worth 16s porewt. Grain.—Wheat : We have no alteration to report in the market, prime milling be- i ing still saleable at our last week's quota- : tion of 4s 8d ; inferior desor ptions are ; neglected. For for fowl feed there is an improved demand. Wo quote prime milling 4s 81 ; medium, 3s 6ito 4s 31 : fowl feed, 2s to "i per bushel Oats ; No improvement in local demand. Considerable parcels have changed hands for ship,neat, or are going forward on growers’ account. We quote hist milling. Is 7d to Is SI; good feed. Is 4ltols G l Barelcy : Market very languid, and brewers being well storked with both barley and malt, only ] vo’y superior samphs would command the i slightest attention. ; Store Cattle. —We shall offer at Mospicl Yards on Thursday, 25th November, at 2 p.m., about 200 head of well bred store cattle, consisting of quiet well-grown bullocks, cows, steers, and heifers, in goal eondi i .n, on account of Mr Walter Miller, Roxburgh Station. Store Sheep. —We have particulars of a j large number of eross-breds and merinos i from several good docks.
