' Mr Feraud has succeeded in producing AROMATIC TONIC BITTER WINKS, S which are not only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black’s report:— * “ University, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. Class—Be veragos. November sth, 1875. 1 have examined for Mr J D. Feraud, of 1 Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result: — No. 527 is a sherry colored, and No. 82SD a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent j showing the purify of the wafer and other I substances employed in their manufacture, j These two beverages have a slight acid j chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable j cool bitter tasto, blended with a sensation I of sweetness, arising from the saeharine j matter of the fruit of which they are the j fermented extract. 1 have also examined the aromatic and | other flavoring substances used by Mrl Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended ilii | the fruit wine, they must bn pronounced perfectly safe, and free from anything like deleterious properties. I consider this wine, therefore, an ngraea- j ble and perfectly safe beverage, and when I diluted with three or four times their bulk : of water, they will make a good cooling 1 summer drink.
