THE ENTIRE DRAUGHT HORSE, Young Reformer WILL .stand this season at Dlacfc stone Hill, the proprietor having decided not to travel with the horse, but any mares sent will have his best attention. Young Reformer, by Emperor, was bred by the late Mr Donald Grant, Kirkland ; dam, Gentle, by Champion i Champion, bred by Mr Anderson, Drumore, Wigtonshire, Scotland. Champion, when a yearling, gained two first prices ) as a two-year-old, four first and two second prizes ; when a three-year old, a premium of 40 sovereigns at Glasgow ; when four years old, a premium of 60 sovereigns given by the Kirkcudbright Agricultural Society ; and when live years old gob £4O premium at Glasgow ; he also got a silver medal for the five best yearlings got by any horse in 1859. Also a number of first prizes in Australia, and first prize at the Taieri, the only year he was shown. Gentle, dam Betty, was hred by Captain Gardner, Dandenoug, Victoria ; sire, the imported Clydesdale horse Reformer ; dam, Bess, imported by Captain Gardner. Betty gained first prize as a one year-old in Melbourne in 1854 ; second as a two-year-old, in 1855 ; and first, as a three-year-old, in 185G—all in Melbourne. Young Reformer is a brown horse, 164 hands high, rising five years old. Terms—£3 10s ; Groom’s fe<*, os, payable at first service. A paddock at B'ackstone Hill will ha provided for mares coming from a distance. Every attention to mares sent, but no responsibility. Glasgow Geprtue stands 164 hands high, is a beautiful bright bay, with splendi i logs, has very superior action, with almost faultless symmetry, and has proved himself a sure foal getter.

His clam Empress, own sister to Emperor, was lireil by \V. H. Valpy, Esq., out of Nancy (imported), by Napoleon (imported). Empress has gained the following prizes, viz Second in Dunedin in 1866, beating Nimmo’s celebrated bay mare Kate, which was sold to go to Canterbury for L 220 in ISIiS ; gained the second prize at Taieriand third at Dunedin, beating Nimmo’s old black marc Joan ; and in IS7O gained second at Taieri, first at '-hag Valley, and first at Blneskin. She was only exhibited six times, and was successful cm each occasion. Nancy was by the famous Garvey horse, and was bred by Alex. Findlay, Esq., Saudyhills, near Glasgow, and was imported to Otago by W. 11. Valpy. Esq., per the ship Southern Cross, in 1850. Nancy was first shown as a three-year-old in 1854, and gained Frst Prize at Hamilton, First at B.iillestown, Second at Glasgow, and Second at Kildbrido. She was next year shown as brood marc at Glasgow and Kildbricle, wbeu she took Second Prize at both places. His sire, the celeVatod imported horse Glasgow Geordie, by Champion, was bred by Mr Andrew \Varnock, Hearyarcls, near Glasgow, out of his Prize mare Maggie, whose stock were all prize-takers without exception, ami, although most of them were sold when under two years old, they realized iu the aggregate over L 1,200. Glas-' gow Geordie has taken the following’ prizes : —First at Maryhill, Kirkintullock Bishopbtiggs, and Johnson ; in 1867 he gained First Prize at T. komairiro, First at Taieri. and First at Dunedin ; and 1868, First at Taieri, and Second at Dunedin. Champion gained prizes as a colt at almost every show in Lanarkshire. When four years old he gained the First Friz • of L4O and a Silver Medal at Glasgow, where 28 horses competed i when five years old he gained the First Prize of L4O and a Medal at Gatehouse, O’Fleet ; also the same year he gained the First Prize of 1,30 at the Highland Society’s Show. Dumfries ; when six old ho gained First Prize of 1,40 and Medal at Gatehouse, O'Fleet ; when seven years old he gained the First Prize of 1,40 at Glasgow ; and the same year he gained the medium Gold Medal at the Highland Society s Show at Kelso, being tlion outlawed for any othei thing than extra Stock; also First Prize of LSO at Carlisle, and Second at the Great International Exhibition, London, in the year 1862—thus showing Glasgow Geordie to be a puic-bred Clydesdale, and combining the two best strains of blood ever imported to Otago
