THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS AT HOME.

Lonpon, September 28th. The match against the Players of England was resumed this morning. Tho Australians scored 133 in their first innings, thus leaving the Players 43 to the bad. The Flayers then went in for their sec md innings, and were all disposed of f r 82 runs. The Australian then requiring 40 runs went in for theii second innings, and eight of their vickets fell before the runs was obtained, thus winning the mutch by two wickets Spoil nth in-the second innings playe 1 for Banuerman, and made 21, ami was caught. October 4th. The Australian cricketers were entertained at luncheon at the llolhorn Viaduct Hotel to day by a number of colonists and others. Afier the usual toasts had been drunk, Mr F. J. Sargood, of Melbourne, presented Mr Murdoch wilh a silver loving cup, ami the other members of the team with silver tankards, in commemoration of their tour.

The banquet given in honor of the Australian cricketers was presided over by tho Lord Mavor. The Agent-oeneral, and many leading cricketers were present. Lord Harris spoke in most eulogistic terms of the cricketers, and said he considered the Australians pre eminent at cricket.
