BANNOCKBURN.
(FROM OUR OWS CORRESPONDENT )
I will begin by informing you that we have got tbe Carrick Range water running on our claims once moie. About six heads are already landed, and in another ten days there will lie six more heals in from Coal Creek, as there are six men cleaning the race at the head. Those on the hill are already in full working order, viz—The Perseverance Company and Griffiths and Grenfell. The latter party have got their iron pipes into working order, ami I must say that the pipes are a great improvement on the canvas, as this party have got any amount of pressure. Tile reefers are pushing ahead getting nut stone. Messrs Lawrence and Edwards are getting ready to have a crushing at Mr Radford’s mill. They have got about 150 tons of stone at grass for their winter’s work, ami I am informed of a very g. od quality. Mr Radford will follow, having about 200 tons of very Superior s'one to grass. Charles Green and his brother have struck a very good leader in the Young Austt.ilian Claim, sc there Is a probability of Mr Radford’s itiill being kept busy all the sumnier mouths. Mr Radford deserves great credit for his perseverance, for he purchased tbe Young Australian indl single handed, which gave others cditrage to prospect for stone. Sam. Williams .-it'd party haVe also got a goo 1 heap of stood at grass. t have not heahl the amount, but I do not think they will be far behind. On the Bannockburn Flat the slnicers (those who had no water in the winter) are preparing to make a start. Owen Neil and party are sluicing away on the School Hcii.se Terrace claim wholesale, as they ate Using all the water that is in the Bannockburn race. Mes-ra Tippett Slid Ritchie have also started their claim on the Round Hill, and this claim is likely to turn out very good gold between now and Christmas. Messrs Bruce and Hogan are also doing very well on tile School House Terrace, and several others are also doing well.
The eo-opcratite Store is getting on very slowly. In my opinion they started before they were ready. They have got a lot of sheep running on the hill, and no place to kill or sell them in.
