VINCENT COUNTY COUNCIL.

The following in the Older Paper for the next meeting of the Council which takes place on Wednesday, the 22nd September:

Adjourned Motions. 1. Cr M’Ginnts to move—That tenders he called for the erection of the bridge over the Eamsclcugh River which was previously passed by the Council and ordered to stand over through the floods. 2. Cr Fraser to move—That the Engineer he instructed to propane plans and specifications for a traffic bridge over the Lindis River, at the crossing ot the road Hawea Lindis to Cromwell. 3. Cr Phaser to move—That the Engineer he instructed to widen and improve such portions of the road Rocky Point to Quartz Ree 1 ' Point as are at present unsafe for heavy traffic.

4. Or Fiuseu to move—That this Council in future alters its hour of meeting to 2 pin.

5. Cr Pitches to move—That the Engineer he requested to examine the road at Ida Valley on the lately thrown open block X, and if found impassable, ho be authorised to spend a sum of money not exceeding fifty pounds for the necessary repairs.

G. Ci- Fraser to move-That the sum of (L ) bo expended in forming a dray road from tho Hawea Bridge to Long Valley.

7. Or St RON - AC It to move—That tho sum of LSO bo expended in making cutting and other repairs on the road to Tinkers between sections 34 and 51, block I, Tiger Hill.

8 Cr Stp.onacii to move—That the sum of 1.20 lie expended in repairing road opposite section 28, block Ilf., Lander; and in making swamp passable, between sections 24 and 25, block ill , Lauder.

9. Or ST RON AC it totnovo - That llto Engineer he instructed to repair the hill near sludge channel, on road Drybread to Lauder Creek.

Notices of Motion. 1. Cr CobCLOUGii to movo—That in view ot the financial embarrassment of the County, and the consequent stoppage of County works, the Council take into consideration Ist. The abolition of the office of County Engineer. 2nd. The reduction for next year of the salary paid to the office of County Chairman to LIOO. 3rd. The abolition of payment of any kind to members. 4th. The amalgamation of the offices held by the County Clerk and those held by the Collector. And that the Council do order thereon. 2. Cr M'Ginnis to move—That a sum not exceeding LlO sterling he voted for erecting a foot bridge over the Gorge Creek, on main road Alexandra to Toviot, 3. Cr Pitches to move—That a sum not exceeding one hundred pounds sterling ho voted fur repairs and formation of a road between sections two and three, block nine, Ida Valley.

4. Cr Pitches to move—That the petition of tie miners at German Hill relative to the sludge channel be taken into consideration, and that the County Engineer be requested to visit the district, and report at the next meeting of this Council what amount the petitioners are entitled to.
