ROMAN CATHOLIC CHAPEL, OPHIR.
This new edifice, erected within the past twelve months was consecrated on Sunday last the sth instant by his Lordship Bishop Moran, assisted by the resident Curate Father Sheehan. The consecration ceremony which was of an impressive and touching character being over, His Lordship delivered a beautiful and eloquent address on Confirmation, impressing upon his hearers tho necessity to well study the nature and extent of their duties attaching to it. Ho afterwards confirmed about 20 children, who had been prepared for tho solemn obligations. His Lordship then addressed tho congregation, which was a most numerous one —representatives from every district, within a radius of 25 miles being present, thanking them for tbo'cdifice and for the gratification of being there that day, and specially thanking all other denominations for theii valuable assistance towards it. Tho chappie was crowded throughout tho ceremony, and the collections at tho door in aid of tho building fund wore most liberal.
