MURDER AT KYEBURN.

Informal! in was received hero on Wednesday afternoon of a most diabolical murder having been committed at Kycburn, about seven miles from Nasoby, during the previous night, the murdered person being an elderly widow, named Mary Young, aged sixty years. From what was known of the habits of deceased, she was supposed to have kept a largo sum of money in the house, and it is conjectured that the murderer or murderers object was to obtain the money ; in that, however, they failed, except that the deceased had two parcels of money, as the police in their search of the house, after receiving notice of the murder, discovered LIOOO in bank-notes; also, a bank deposit receipt. Not the slightest clue, had been obtained as to the perpetrator of the foul deed. Mr Inspector Hickson posted off to Naseby immediately on the receipt of the news, and it is to be hoped bo will be able to track the offender.

From further information received, wo learn that the house of deceased was broken into some time during Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, as that on one of the nc-ighhours calling in on the Wednesday morning about half-past eight, discovered the poor woman in a smni-o m-

scions state, suffering from frightful injuries about the head, evidently inflicted with smic heavy blunt instrument. Everything about the place was in disorder, as if a general ransacking had taken place. Three largo stones smeared with blood were also foil ud on the floor, and with these it is supposed the injuries were inflicted. Fiom the time she was found till between one

and two in the day, when she succumbed to the injuries received, deceased had but few sensible moments, but during one of the lucid intervals she said that which may p issibly lead to the detection and arrest of her murderers.
