STOCK REPORT.

Mr Donald Stronaeh (on bc-Inlf of the Mew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending 2Sth July : Pat Cattle were in fair supply at Burnside today, when 198 head were yarded, of which about 2-5 were stores. The Demand was good, and last week’s rates were sustained. Range of prices for fat bullocks was LI) 12 1 to LI I 7s 01, and for cows L 3 los to LlO 12s fid. We sold drafts on account of Messrs A. Thomson, J. M ‘Kinnon and Wilson Brothers at L 5 C 1 to L 9 12s 0 1 for bullocks, and from L 5 7s 01 to 1,7 for cows. Wo quote 25s per 1091b for prime beef and 22s 6 1 for medium.

Fat Sheep. -The full supply of 3514 head was penned, of which 400 were merinos and the remainder cross-bred. These proved to be largely in excess of trade requirements and above SOO wore turned out. Merinos were sold at from 7s 21 to lls 01, an 1 cross-bred at from 11s 91 to week’s rates of about Is to Is 01 per head. On account of Messrs Ross Brothers, Walter Miller, J. and-I. Sutherland, T. Davidson, and S. CL Smith, we disposed of drafts of 383 merinos at from 7s Od to 10s, and of 447 cross -hreds at from 12s to los per head. Wo quote prime mutton about 2ijd per lb. Wool.—'Wo have received the following telegram from our London office, dated 20th July:—“ Market unchanged. Unto date 290,000 bales have arrived.

Sheepskins.— At our weekly auction on Monday we offered a full catalogue, which met with good competition, and realised the following prices, which showed some improvement on those of last week Butchers’ cross bred skins, 2s 7d to 5s Sd ; merinos, 2s Id to 3s lOd ; station skins up to 4s 2d ; and pelts up to lid each Hides. —Wc are clearing all consignments at previous quotations of 20s each for butchers’ green hides ; and 3Jd per lb for wet salted.

Tallow.—Prices arc about the same ns last week, at which tL. demand for local consumption continue , i air, say 27s for good bodied tallow ; and 17s to 10s per cwt. for rough fat. Grain.—Wheat : We have no sa’cs of prime milling to report, but wo have placed a parcel of sound wheat of low quality at 3s 3d. Some lots of inferior have been quitted at auction, hast week’s could no doubt be obtained for any parcels of good quality, althugh the demand can scarcely be called brisk. We quote prime milling, 3 s lOd to 3s lid; medium, 3s Gd to 3s 81; fowls’ feed (nominal), 2s 3d to 2s 9d per bushel. Oats : Supplies are stiil on a very limited scale, ami if this feature continues the market may be expected to harden still further, but enquiry at the moment is not very active. We boar of sales of prime milling at Is Gd, and of good feed at Is 5d per bushel, probably for shipment. Barley : 270 change since last week.
