STOCK REPORT.

Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending 23rd June : Fat Cattle.—243 head wore yarded at Burnside to-day, of which about 50 were stores. The demand was good, and last week’s prices were well maintained, bullocks fetching LG luster LI2 2s Od, and cows L 5 13s to L 9 os per head. Wo sold a draft on account of Mr P. Ryan at L 9 for bullocks and from L 5 12s Gd to L 9 Gd for cows. Quotations for prime beef, 27s Gil ; medium, 22s Gd. hat Calves. —lB wore yarded which sold at from 13s to 50s per head, according to size and condition.

Fat sheep were in fair supply, 1713 head having been penned, in consequence of the short supply last week and the smallness of stock, the trade demand was very strong,'and quotations show an advance of 2s per head. Crosa-hreds sold at 13s to 23s and merinos at 12a per head. On behalf of Mr Walter Miller we disposed of a draft of 203 head 13s to IGs 9d for crossbreds, and 10s 9d for merinos. We quote mutton 34 to 2Jd per lb. M 001. Beyond having received details of the highly satisfactory prices realised at the opening sales of the second series of London auctions for the present year, we have nothing to report; Sheepskins.—There was a fair attendance of buyers at our sale on Monday, when we offered a full catalogue, and, with goo 1 competition, cleared all the lots at the following quotations Butchers’ cross-bred skins, Is 7d to 5s 41 ; merinos, 2s Id to 4s; pelts and station skins, 7d to 3s each. Hides.—There is no 'change to report in quotations, at which the demand is unabated .

Grain.—Wheat ; Bcceipts into warehouse have been Scarcely equal to the average quantity of the previous few weeks, and there has not been much doing privately. Wo can place all parcels off fair to good quality at our last quotations of 3s lOd for good milling, and 3s Gd to 3s Sd for good medium. have disposed at auction of about 400 bags at up to 3s 7d for medium milling. Fowls’ feed wo quote Is 101 to 2s 91 per bushel. Oats: We sold 891 bales by auction yesterday at from 8d to Is 41 per bushel for feed. Holders of any considerable parcele of good quality are firm in demanding higher prices. Barley ; By auction and privately we have placed 2090 bags, and quote from Is Gd for feed up to 3s per bushel for malting.
