BANNOCKBURN.

There is nothing much to report at the present time. lii mining matters things are very quiet in consequence, of King Frost having entered an appearance, and I am sorry to inform you that the Carriek waterrace is stopped for the winter season, an 1 as this race is the principal source for the motive power for the working of many of the claims on the Garrick and the Bannockburn, the consequence is that most of the sluicing claims will kdve to remain idle until the Spring. The Perseverance Company lias washed up and has declared a dividend of 2s (id. per 1200 th share, and has left a good sura to lllcir credit iii the Bank.

Griffiths and Grenffell have also washed iip, the which has given them a grand total of three hundred ounces for about four mouths work.

All the reefers are pushing ahead, and getting out stone ready for the Spring. Samuel Williams and Company have had a trial crushing of a few tons of the bine stone, and they have toi-ftafiled the tailings to Victoria to have them teste 1 by Danny and Roberts’s new patent gold Saver.

The Stanley Company have started their tiinhcl again, the result of which I trust that I shall be able in future communications to give some favorable account. On the Bannockburn I hear that Messrs Ritchie and Tippett have given lip possession of the Bannock race, their lease of Hie saih’e having expired
