Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending 9th Juno Fat Cattle.—The supply at Burnside today was about an average one. 109 head having been yarded, consisting of fair to medium and firime quality, and about 20 stores. The demand was sufficiently good to establish a rise on last week’s prices. Bullocks realised LG 17s Gil to 1.1.'l Ids per head, and cows L 5 10s to 1,3 10s. On account of Messrs William Sliand and others, wo disposed of 21 head at LG 17s G I to Lit) os for bullocks. We quote 25s per 1001b for prime beef, and 22a Gd for medium. Fat Sheep.—3o9l he id were penned today, consisting of 1075 merinos and 2019 cross breds, and in consequence of last week’s short supp'y met an active demand at about last week’s prices. Cross-breds sold at from lOs Gd to 15s, and merinos at 5s 91to 9s Gd. We report sales of drafts on behalf of Messrs J. J. M’Auky and F. Scbaw, at 10s S1 for cross-breds and 5s 31 for merinos. To-day’s quotation for prime mutton may be given at 291 per lb. Fat Lambs. —Only 30 were penned, which brought extreme rates. Wool.—London telegrams are scarcely so favourable in their report of the auctions now in progress.
