WASTE LANDS BOARD.

At the sitting of the Waste Lands Board held at Dunedin, on Wednesday the 2nd instant, the following business of local interest was transacted :

The certificate of application of Michael Sammon for gold-mining lease over section 8, block VII. Lauder, was approved. Certificate of application for agricultural lease was approved of as tolbws : - Alfred Clarke, sections 37, and 41, block 111, district of Cromwell.

The Board, in consequence of the persons referred to already holding nearly the areas they were entitled to hold under agricultural lease, disallowed tho certificates of application made on behalf of James Parks (section 2, block IV, Leaning Rock), and James M‘Arthur (section 3, block VI, Leaning Eock.) Applications to purchase under agricultural lease by the following persons were approved : —D. H. Mervyn, sections 22 and 24, blook I, Teviot; J. 0. M'Ardell, see. 1, block I, Kawarau. Messrs Connell and Hoodie (on behalf of E. A. Dooley) applied for a license of section 16, blook 111, Kawarau.—Adjourned for fourteen days.

License was allowed to issue to Robert Tubman for deferred pastoral land, section 15, block 10, Teviot.
