I have to report that in consequence of complaints made by a late patient, named Farrell, a constable stationed at Clyde, having reached my ears, I took the opportunity of examining him before bin superior officer, when he stated that he had no fault to find with either quantity or quality of food prepared, nor with the Doctor's treatment, but he complained of the pillows, and the rudeness of the attendant in serving out the food —I have also, to report that in consequence of James Strain, a patient,'refusing to-submit to my treatment, 1 discharged him, and that ho came back with a letter, from the President, for re-ad-mission. I wish to protest against a patient who is dismissed for disobedience being sent back for readmission, it is sure to back others in disobedience to orders other than they approve of themselves, the hands ot tha Surgeon will be weakened, and eventually the discipline of the Institution will come to be totally disregarded. Resolved—That this Committee approve of the action of the President in sending back Swain to the Hospital, and instructs the Secretary to inform the Resident Surgeon that m all cases of disobedience or misconduct ho must inform the President or Secretary, in order that the case may bo dealt with.
Resolved—That Mr O. Atttield be reelected member of the Visiting Committee. Resolved—That the Secretary’s salary be fixed at L2O per annum.
