A SUGGESTION.
(TO THE EDITOR OF TIIR DU.fSTAN TIMES.) As Secretary of the Diinstan District Hospital, I write to you 34 follows :—AVe are getting bored with those everlasting Concerts, Much only please a few. We do not complain cf last night's entertainment —that was far above anything we are accustomed to heav or see—but we want a change, and are willing to pay for it. In the old country they get up such thing as " Calico B5Hs " for charitable' purposes, with good results, and the ladies give' their calico dresses they went to the 3all in, to be sold next day by auction for the same benefit the Call was for - of course, the men folk mostly buy the dresses, and it causes great amusement I can tell you. I call myself a new comer here, and considering that lately there is more money than usual going about, I think, for the novelty of the thing, it should be tried. How Soofl some of us may require help from the Hospital in some way or another we know not, so it is our duty to do what we can to give support when we have it in our power to do so.— You try what I say. Your's, &c.,—Sam Browne. Alexandra, April 7, 1880.
