We have heard it rumoured that the Earnscleugh Block survey is to be again altered. The Block was surveyed in 100acre sections, and these were small enough in all conscience. Rumour has it that they are now to be reduced to 30 acres. Since writing the above, we have been favoured by Vincent Pyke, Esq., M.H.R., with the following telegram from the Surveyor-Gen-eral in answer to one from Mr Pyke enquiring whether the rumour was correct:— “The only modification ot Earnscleugh Survey is the alteration of road line as agreed upon by all parties, and the subdivision of section 1, block X., into two sections. No intention of subdividing into 30 or 40-acro lots.”
