The Bishop SulTracan of Guildford, the Right Rev. Johu Sutton Utterton, died su Mcnly on a rec *nt Sunday while assist* ing in the morning service at the church of All Saints, Ryde. The deceased had just preached a sermon in aid of the parish church completion fund, and while afterwants kneeling at the Gominunion table he fell forward on his face and expired almost immediately. The New York Century furnishes the following statistics :—" The Irish are increasing at a ratio of Uhl to Gt) as regards the Germans, and of ll)0 to 40 as tegards native Americans. The writer estimates that the same proportion of Irish increase as compare ! to Americans exists throughout the whole of the New England Stales. The American women are blamed for this state of affairs, winch it is dreaded wi 1 in time commit that part of the republic to the control of the Irish race and the Catholic Church.
