Your Sub-Committee recommends that instructions be given to the Trea-mrer to sue all debtors who are in a position to discharge their liabilities to the Institution. “ Vi SC EXT PvKR, President. “ J K. Resolved—That applications be invited f-r the office of Collector for the Dunstan District Hospital, the •‘enumeration to be 15 per cent, on all subscriptions, excepting grants from Couutv and Boroughs, entertainments, and hospital races. Mr J. E. Stevens was elected Treasurer pro Irm. Mr G- Fache was elected Secretary pro ten Letter from Dr Leahy was read, asking for leave of absence. The President stated that he had seen individual.members of the Committee, who had agreed to the request on condition that Dr Slc-man make the Hospital his headquarto s during Dr Leahy’s absence, and that Dr Le diy had been so informed. Letter from Dr Leahy was road as follows : “Gentlemen—l have to report in the case of George Ross, a destitute patient, that he is now in ■, fit state to be removed from the Hospital, and I recommend that, as he suffers from an incurable disease, which deprives him of the p over of working for ids living, he should be recommended by the Committee of Management for admission to the Benevolent Institution, Dunedin. “ I should like to inform the Committee J that of late patients seeking admission pre- ; sent maun ciipt tickets instead of the 1 proper printed forms, and that hitherto I : have not ret used to accept them ; but in fairness to the Committee I think that this practice should be discouraged, and that I should be directed not to admit any patient except in case of emergency or of serious ecci lent, unless provided with a ticket of! the proper description. “I am, .tc., “ T. Leahy, M. 8., “ Resident Surgeon.” Resolved that the first portion of the letter lie brought under the notice of the Gi-unty Chairman, he being a Life Governor of (he Benevolent Institution, and that he be asked to assist the Committee in carrying out the Surgeon’s recommendation. Resolved—That the Surgeon be in structed to abide by mles 9 and 60 of the rules and regulations, and that an advertisement be inserted in the Dunstan Times, Tint in future no pa*ient, except in cases of emergency, will be admitted except on presentation of printed form of recommen. dation.
