The Hon. Mr Rnlleston, Minister of Lands, Education, &c., arrived in Clyde yesterday morning about fl o’clock, accompanied by Mr Blair,, and after breakfasting, set nut on his journey of discovery. The Hon. Gentleman visited the School, and then was closeted for a time with Major Keddell, E.M, and IVarden. The Hon. Gentleman, then accompanied by Mr Pyke, M.H.R., proceeded in a huggy and pair to meet some parties in the Wai Keri Keri Valley, but after going a little more than half-way turns back to Clyde, anil proceeds on another voyage of discovery What the object of this strange proceeding was, we cannot imagine. If it was intended as an insult to the people he purposed meeting, ourselves included, as we at no little inconvenience went on to the ground, the Hnn, Gentleman succeeded most effectually, and if the Hon. Gentleman will info-m ns when again he is in the humour to give us another wildgoose chase, we will p'ace ourselves at his disposal.
