CLUTHA PRESBYTERY.
The regular meeting of this Court was hold on the 17th ultimo at- Balclutha. Sederunt—Rev. Messrs Allan, Bannerman, Cowie, Chisholm, Bowie, Bett, Mon-ice, Lothian, Cordon, Telford, Waters, and the Rev W. Gillies, of Ti inarn, who appeared as a Commis-ioner from the Congregation at Temuka, to prosecute call in favor of tho Rev. Mr Gordon, recently inducted into Clinton. The Rev. Mr Telford, Moderator for current year in the Chair. It was resolved to hear parties from the Clinton Congregation in reference to the removal of Mr Carton on the 31st cuvrentA request from the Congregation of Warepa, asking the Presbytery to moderate in a call was allowed to lie on the table till meeting of Synod. The Presbytery passed a resolution regretting that the Church Extension Commit.tee had not seen its wav to send Mr Ferguson to Cromwell for two months supply, as the people in that district ha I been led to expect. An application for immediate payment of grant to Balclutha church was allowed to lie over till next meeting. The Rev. J. Lothian was appointed moderator of the congregation at Cromwell pro tern.
