The Dunstan Times.

FRIDAY, MAY 23, 1879.

Beneath the rule of men entirely just the PEN is mightier than the SWORD.

Ix this issue wo publish the Half-yearly Balance Sheet of the Bank ot New Zealand to which we draw the favorable attention of our readers, feeling fully assured that its perusal will increase (if that is possible) the general confidence that is manifested in that Institution. From s purely local stand point the report must be highly interesting, as m consequence of the existing Bank having signified its intention of closing its doors in Clyde, the Bank of New Zealand will, iu all probability, open on Agency in its place. The Balance Sheet enters fully into the details of the Bank’s transactions, while the Chairman’s (Dr Campbell) speech, touches on every point of interest. We therefore, can but recommend it for careful perusal.
