(FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Dunedin, April 24th. Earl Chelmsford defeated 11.000 ifulus with great slaughter. He then relieved Ekowe. Colonel Pearson afterwards achieved a brilliant victory at Kumtarla. The British loss in the engagements on the 3rd and 4th was 400 and 220. •The Boers threaten to invest Pictoria, and to seize Sir BarPe Frere as hostage.
