DUN STAN BREWERY. COLONIAL WINE AND CORDIAL MANUFACTORY. Monte Curisto. CLYDE. JI). FERAUD takes the pre- • sent opportunity of informing residents of the Northern Goldfields and the general public that his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now turning out an article not to be equalled. Sir Feraud has succeeded in producing aromatic Iconic Jitter wines, which arc i/otyfnijy agreeable beverages, but also have <pceljent qualities. The IVofgsaor/Blaclt’-s report following “ Uni verity, Diinedju, OtSco/TSew Zca ISd'd L^oratory.'*' ,^“ Class—Sicverages. November sth, 1875. I have examinedSor Mr J. I). Feraud, of Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonie Bitters, with the following result No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. 82S is a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the sacharino matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. 1 have also examined the aromatic and other flavoring substances used by Mr Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended with the fruit wine, they must be pronounced perfectly safe, and free from anything like deleterious properties.
I consider this wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, they will make a good cooling summer drink. JAMES G.
