He however, refuses to accept the dismissal. A new Ministry has been formed under the presidency of Charif Pasha, composed exclusively of natives.

When dismissing Mr Rivera Wilson, the Khedive also dismissed Monsieur dlignicre, French Minister of Public Works in Egypt. London, April 10th. Garibaldi’s real motive for opposing the supposed Italian expedition to New Guinea is causing much speculation. Later advices telegraphed from Madeira have just been received from Cape Town, dated the 18th ult., announcing that Prince Cham, the brother of Cetawayo, and who is supposed to be an aspirant to the throne, has surrendered himself unconditioally to th? British, together with his son and fallowing of 300 Zulus. The latest news from the front states that no important movement of any kind has been made since the despatch of the previous mail. Preparations for the relief Rkowe were being rapidly pushed forward ->t Natal, and the command of the relieving column had been entrusted to Colonel Law.

A large number of Zulus surround Colonel Pearson’s entrenched position at Ekowe. The garrison is reported to be in good health, but the supply of provisions is running short.

The 56th Regiment of 'Foot, commanded by Colonel Mansfield’’laike, is already, on the march for the river Tugela, which divides Zululand from Natal.

The 91st Regiment, commanded by Colonel Kirke, the 3rd battalion of the 6f)th Rifles, commanded by Colonel Leigh Pemberton' and the M and N batteries of the 6tb Brigade of Artillery, have arrived at Natal.
