CRICKET.

A match was * played between the Clyde and Cromwell Clubs, on the ground of the latter, on Monday list! The weather was favourable, and the journey up of the visitors was very pleasant. About half-p.ist 11 o'clock the game was commenced, and , the Clyde team having won the .toss put their opponents in. The performances in the first innings call for very little remark on the part of the batsmen,-wicket after wicket falling in quick, succession before the bowling of M. Leahy and Clark. London and Wilmott were the only ones Who made a stand, and they contributed 9 and 7 respectively. The innings closed for 23. With but little delay the first innings of Clyde commenced. The play was a little better than that of the Cromwell team, but here, agairt the scoring was principally confined to two bats— Ur and. M. Leahy, who contributed 11 and 20 respectively, the latter showing some very good cricket. Maddock was very effective with the ball. 57 was the total, or 34 to the good. The Cromwell second innings was almost immediately commenced When nine wickets hail fallen for less that, 20 runs it looked any dds on Clyde winning i,. one innings.. but the last two men M Kellar and Uriewere evidently bent on a bit of fun at the expense of the fielders. They, however, by any amount of luck, managed tn run the score up to 34, when M‘Kellar was caught out. This was a tie. and left Cly de one to score to win, and this was obtained without the loss of a wicket Clyde thus won the match by 10 wickets. Subjoined are the scores :
