DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was held in the Committee Room on Monday eveuiug last the 7e.li instant.
Present B. Naylor, Esq,, (President) W. L. Simpson, Esq , (Vice President) and Messrs Holt. Auckland, Attfield, Beck, Hotop, J. E Stevens, (Treasurer) and George Facbe, (Secretary.)
The minutes of the prrevious meeting were read and confirmed.
The Visiting Committee reported that before the estima'e of cost or the course of new water-race be decider! on, the levels would require to he taken ; they also reported that the Hospital had been visited. Resolved That the Visiting Committee he empowered to have the levels of the proponed course of the race taken. The Inspector of Works for the erection of the new building reported that the Contractor hart, with hut some few exceptions, completed his contract. Mr Charnoek’s extra account to the amount of LGI 15s 5d was laid on the table. After exaniing the same, and hearing the report of the Inspector of Works, it was resolved that the amount, less LlO 5s he paid. Mr Auckland p o .osed las an amendment that the account he reduced by L 5 only, this however was lost.
The Visiting Committee’s No. 2 report, recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies, together with Mr Cliamock's account in connection with the new Hospital buildings, amounting to LI 23 14s Gd was read and received.
The Treasurer’s report, as follows, shewing a debit balance of LlO7 8s 2 was read and received.
Mr Simpson proposed That the resolution passed at a previous meeting that the remuneration of the Collector ho hy Commission on the amount subscribed he rescinded, secouded hy Mr Cambridge and carried. Proposed hy Mi Cambridge, seconded hy Mr Auckland :—That the salary of the Sec retary and Collector he L 25. Carried. Mr Auckland was elected Member of the Visiting Commmittee in the place of Mr Cambridge retiring. The Secretary was instructed to invite terms from the local Insurance Agents for insuring the Surgeon’s residence. A vote of thanks to the Chair closed the meeting.
