The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The inward correspondence w s read and received.
The Secretary stated that he had written 20 letters, accompanied by Subscription Lists, asking for subscriptions, an 1 in s me instances pointing out that no im nit s had be n received from tho e addressed or their district for the pist ye .r ; also, that he ha 1 sent nut 120 Annual R. ports The Visiting Committee reported that they hoi visited the Ina itution dining the month and found everything clean and in good older, and that the fence requited repairing. Resolve I—Th it the tender of W. Bro vn being put in after the time advertised be not entertained, the Committee thinking that it won I he a bail price lent. Mr Oliver’s tender, being the only o'her one. was then read. The tender was for repairing the race ; also, for the purchase of it.
Mr Oliver, by consent of the committeeexplained that while his tender was for repairing and looking after the race for 12 mon'hs, and it was n -t to be inferred that he would repair any damage to the race by flood or othor cause. After considerable and somewhat animated discussion Mr Oliver said, as there was apparently a misunderstanding he would withdraw hj s tender. Resolve ! That as the tender of Mr Oliver after his ex'danati-m does not convey what he means, that Mr Oliver be allowed to withdraw same.
